Kern Konstruction is very proud of our relationship with Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc. We already completed several projects for this famous restaurant group. There are also several more lettuce entertain you projects currently under construction. Following are some of the completed projects.

Mon Ami Gabi Oakbrook - Illinois
This project was one of Kern Konstruction’s first for the successful restaurant developer, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. It consisted of a complete interior build out to the clients exacting specifications. This was a complicated job involving an expedited schedule and the mechanicals run through the 2nd story of a mall.

Hub 51 Chicago - Illinois
Hub 51 is one of Lettuce Entertain You’s newest restaurants. This stylish urban dining/lounge location was an interior build out in a high rise building in one of Chicago’s busiest areas. Again Kern Konstruction dealt successfully with an expedited schedule. Many aspects of this project were design build during the construction process.

Frankie’s Scaloppine Chicago - Illinois
This Italian theme restaurant, a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, is located in the 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops. This upscale shopping mall is on the magnificent mile, another highly congested area. The project was a complete interior finish. Kern Konstruction had to complete the work mainly at night when the mall was closed. They needed to deal with complex big building logistics...design build technology was utilized during construction. This project was completed on time to the clients complete satisfaction.

Food Life Court in Water Tower Place - Chicago, Illinois
Water Tower Place is one of the most upscale shopping centers in the United States. This Lettuce Entertain You project involved another expedited schedule and both day and night work. Kern Konstruction remodeled many of the various food stations/kiosks and built the new sacred grounds gourmet coffee kiosk.

Maggiano’s Little Italy - Various Chicago Area Locations
This is a very popular restaurant in the Brinker International Company. Kern Konstruction remodeled and built out many units for this brand. This included a second story addition to one unit and a major dining area expansion for another. A real challenge for Kern Konstruction was the Clark Street project. They did a complete gut (including structural flooring) and remodel of the main kitchen. The restaurant remained open during construction working off auxiliary kitchens. This project was done over the 4th of July.

Corner Bakery - Illinois
Brinker International Company awarded Kern Konstruction several contracts for their corner bakery stores. Considerable work was done involving expansion, remodels, kitchen overhauls and commissary work.

Bakers Square / Poppin Fresh Pies -
Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa
Kern Konstruction’s relationship with this national client encompasses many years and over 100 projects. These include: 50 interior remodels, 36 kitchen remodels, 28 entry remodels and 2 ADA restroom expansions. These projects were all open store remodels with some night work involved.

Flatlanders Restaurant & Brewery - Lincolnshire, Illinois
This free standing building involved the kitchen, main dining room, spacious sports bar, outdoor dining and patio and the brewery. The brewery was unique involving installation of several large stainless steel vats and the extensive brewing apparatus. Kern Konstruction worked with the client from the initial development and design right up to the final completion.

Panera Bread - Illinois and Ohio
Kern Konstruction is happy to include Panera Bread as one of their long term clients. To date they have completed 15 new builds. They have also finished 15 remodels which were all open store and nightwork. Included was a project to build a new unit in a historic Chicago building.

Einstein Bros. Bagels - Illinois and Michigan
Kern Konstruction with one build out for this national chain. This has expanded to now 14 interior build outs.

Every Day’s a Sundae - Downers Grove, Illinois
Complete build out for this old fashioned ice cream parlor.

Buffalo Wild Wings - Illinois and Maryland
Kern Konstruction provided construction management services on several locations. Three of them were ground up projects.

The Clubhouse Restaurant - Oakbrook, Illinois
An interesting project which involved waterproofing of the entire second floor and miscellaneous remodeling and updates.

Mike Ditka’s Iron Mike’s Grill -
Chicago & Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois
The Chicago location consisted of a complete remodel of this two-story restaurant and mechanical updates. After successfully completing this project, Kern Konstruction was awarded the contract for the interior build out for the Oakbrook Terrace location.

McDonalds - Illinois
Kern Konstruction’s relationship with this mega corporation goes back over 20 years. Over this time period they have completed: 18 kitchens, 19 interior remodels, 6 drive thru/vestibule expansions, one McPlay place and 17 ADA compliance remodels. These ADA compliance projects encompassed sitework, restrooms, counters and access logistics. Completed 15 McCafe remodels and each store was a one week schedule with three-four- running at a time, all work was open store and night work.

Boston Chicken / Market - Illinois and Indiana
Brian Kern was involved from the beginning of Boston Chicken’s expansion into the Illinois market. He was instrumental in helping this major chain’s new design & construction related methods. This resulted in a more efficient construction process. Kern Konstruction has completed 19 units in the Illinois market.

Bonefish Grill - Algonquin, Skokie, Northbrook and Illinois
This restaurant is a division of Outback Steakhouse. Kern Konstruction completed interior build outs for all locations.

Carrabba's Italian Grill - Woodridge, Illinois
Kern Konstruction performed the demolition of an existing building on the site. They then built the structure conforming to the exacting design specifications of the client. The project was done on time and on a budget.

Perkins Restaurant - Illinois
Complete conversion from a Luther’s barbeque restaurant to a Perkins. Kern Konstruction followed Perkins established restaurant pattern and design.
